Exploring Indonesian EFL Classroom Interactions in an Online Setting

COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of changes in the education field – including way teachers and students interact classroom. As result, it is considered important for Indonesian EFL to explore address this issue make them familiar with current pattern interaction online With that knowledge, making teaching learning effective achievable. Even though studies have been conducted on similar topic, study propose different analysis by adapting most prevalent framework topic Flanders Interaction Analysis Categories System (FIACS) into more focused categories better understanding. This case aimed at exploring an classroom utilizing FIACS as main framework. The necessary data was collected through non-participant observation, English teacher her seven grade participants. results show dominated teacher. It caused several reasons namely passiveness led talking from technological glitches. meetings be teacher-centered. medium changed, characteristics became unique. One notable uniqueness difficulty oversee interactions between students.
